Counselling for Adults
Counselling for Adults
Rise and Roam Counselling provides in-person clinical counselling for adults in Lake Cowichan, British Columbia, and online counselling services across BC.
Due to limited availability for in-person counselling in Lake Cowichan, priority is given to individuals who may not be able to access counselling effectively online. This may include children and youth, neurodivergent individuals, and those who have previously tried online counselling without success.
Walk-and-talk counselling sessions in Lake Cowichan are available for clients who benefit from movement-based support. Participation requires openness to a hybrid counselling model, allowing sessions to shift between outdoors, in-person, or online formats depending on weather and safety.
Counselling services are grounded in a client-centred, trauma-informed, and neurodiversity-affirming approach. Both online and in-person counselling sessions are designed to be collaborative, flexible, and responsive to individual needs. Therapeutic approaches may include movement, art, and sensory regulation strategies to support comfort, emotional regulation, and engagement during sessions.
Relationship matters in the counselling space. Time is intentionally taken to build trust and encourage ongoing feedback throughout the counselling process to support the therapeutic relationship. An initial consultation is recommended as a building block for the therapeutic relationship, as it provides the initial opportunity to get to know each other, explore counselling goals, review available services, and determine whether Rise and Roam Counselling is the right fit.
